How to Fix Camera Feed not Available on Google Nest Hub

Here are some steps on how to fix camera feed not available on Google Nest Hub:

Check the Visitor Announcements

The visitor announcement is something you must check first. You can open the setting for the camera. It also means that you must toggle it multiple times on multiple days, but it is worth a try for you to fix it by following these instructions:

  • Make sure that there is no silent notification on your Google Home app
  • Open Nest App on your device
  • Make sure that there is no home/away assist setting active (be sure that the device say “no change”; if not toggle to off once clicked that link)
  • Notifications > Device > Notifications type – Push notification + When to send – Always, choose everything (enable and disable for When to send)
  • Scroll down, and then choose the device again > Camera on/off (toggle on to off and then off to on) do the same thing for Indoor Chime on/off.
  • Home away/assist to – off if it is ON
  • Schedule – OFF
  • Notifications – Checked again
  • If any activity zone, Remove
  • Visitor Announcements (check first if it is off and if so, turn it on). This is the right setting if you want to enable the video when someone rings the bell. Toggle it to on and off and on again.
  • Door bell themes – you can change it if you want
  • Go back and then back and back
  • Terminate the app, and then check back your Nest app and check if the settings are the way you have set.

Another user recommended to solve this issue by turning off the visitor announcements for five minutes and then turn it on and then it is working.

Change Nest Hub to Regular Profile

A user figured out this issue. As a new device, Nest Hub had been set into the default profile of the content filtering or parental control. In this case, this is Circle as the part of his Netgear Orbi WiFi system. So, he changed the Nest Hub to a regular profile and then now, this user can see the Nest Hello Camera feed. You can try this solution if you are using the same WiFi system.
