This is one of the common problems that can happen to anyone using Google Nest Hub. It still goes with the green light as the sign that the camera is on, but the camera feed is not exist.
How to Fix Google Nest Hub Max Camera Stopped Working
Here are some possible methods on how to fix Google Nest Hub Max camera not working:
1. Reboot the Device
Do a refresh or reboot Nest Hub. This can help the device solve any minor problems that can cause the camera stopped working.
2. Check the WiFi
Here are the instructions to check the Wi-Fi network of your smartphone or tablet:
- Go to the device’s Settings app
- Tap on Network & Internet, choose Internet
- The WiFi network “Connected” is the network of your tablet or smartphone is connected to. If the WiFi network does not match, or if you want to change the network, then tap on a new network. Enter the password, and then Connect. If you have entered the password for this network before, tap the network and the device will be connected automatically.
Meanwhile, you can check the Wi-Fi network of your Google Nest Hub Max by following the steps below:
- Launch the Google Home app
- Select Favorites or Devices.
- Tap and then hold the device’s tile.
- Tap on Settings and then choose Device Information
- Checkthe WiFi network that your device is connected to.
If the smartphone or tablet’s WiFi network is not match with the WiFi network on Nest Hub Max, you must change the WiFi network.
3. Check the Firmware Version
To check the firmware version on Nest Hub Max, here are the instructions you need:
- Be sure that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same account as your Nest Hub Max.
- Tap on Google Home app
- Tap and then hold the device’s tile.
- Located at the top right, you can tap on Settings, and then choose Device Information.
- Under the section of Technical Information, you can find Cast firmware version:XXX.XXXXX.
4. Remove and Re-add Nest Hub Max from your Google Home App
Here are the steps to remove Nest Hub Max from your Google Home app:
- Launch the Google Home App
- Tap on Favorites or Devices
- Tap on Settings > Remove device > Remove.
Next, re-add your Nest Hub Max to the Google Home App by following the steps below:
- Plug in your Nest Hub Max. Since you have been used this device before, you better do factory reset the display to continue this process.
- On your tablet or smartphone, open Google Home App. If you haven’t set up a home, then tap on Create Home +and then enter a nickname for that home > enter an address > Next
- Tap on the name of your home > Next
- Tap on the Devices > Add > New Device
- Follow the in-app steps, you can opt out some settings including Voice Match and Personal result.
5. Factory Reset
This is the last resort to fix Google Nest Hub Max camera not working. Check the back of the display and then unplug the power cord for 10 seconds. Plug it back in and then wait until the display shows the G logo. Repeat that step for 10 more times, so the total is 11 times.
After plugging the power cord for the 11th time, wait for a moment so the device is resetting. It will notify you with “Welcome to Google Home” so it is ready to set up again.
